Over the weekend our group ' JETSTAR' went over to Ampang Bowl in Berjaya Times Square. The bowling center is situated on 5th floor of the shopping complex. The first step in took us by surprise as it was pretty impressive. The setting was very relaxing and huge,. plus they also use plasma screens instead of the usual CRT TVs.
The actual reason for us there was to try out their lane condition (just like how the m'sian team try out lanes from all over the country). Exposure was needed as our team MANAGER- Jason Soo would like us to experience the difference. He ended up drilling a brand new ball, but the workmanship SUCKS.
I was astonished to find out that it was all very nice on the outside but not inside. Firstly, it cost us Rm6.50 per game (expensivelah). Then, the pin system always get stuck, hence we have to repeatedly reset pins. Worst of all, our balls (Bowling Ball i mean) had scratches and grime or dirt stuck to it. It ain't nice since most of our balls cost us more than RM500.00 a piece (on sale). The consolation was that the staff did offer to clean our BALLS for free.
The overall experience was quite different than what was expected, having to re-evaluate on how much "I know the Game". Reading the lines, playing at differ angles and also changing the overall style was needed. So in future, pls do not pass any comments on our bowling team ( our the m'sian bowling team) performance before you try it out yourselves.
Next (coming weekend 15,16 & 17 Dec), JETSTAR team will be heading south to the island of Singapore for more action. PLS stay tune..................
