GENTING!!!!

Over the Christmas weekend, my wife's company organised a trip to Genting as a family outing for the company. All spouse & family was invited as it was also a company dinner bash. Myself & my wife arrived at Awana Genting slightly earlier so as to confirm our room booking. We booked 3 bookings consisting of 1 suite (for Kenny's parents) & 2 junior suites at Tower Hotel. The Junior Suites have 3 bedrooms, a minibar & a small living area.

Most of the troops arrive at about dinner time, hence Gotong Jaya was the place to be for dinner. SAM our local tour guide suggested Restaurant Sin Kee (or something like that) for dinner. Sam was accompanied by his lovely wife & son (TIM).

We ordered a total of 7 dishes, this included the restaurants most famous dish - roasted pork leg. Sam also ordered a steam PATIN fish which cost us more than a hand & leg. But overall the food wasn't that bad, but edible. The dinner was proudly paid for by the staffs of the company. THANKS to JESS, ELAYNE & JASON for the lovely dinner.
This trip was also for Jetstar Bowling Team closed Championship. 3 cheers for the team that took the initiative to haul our bowling balls all the way to the top of the mountain for this annual event. The close event was participated by 8 of the team members, Kevin Wong couldn't make it on time due to personal reasons???????

We ended that day with the company's annual dinner which was a sumptuous Steamboat & Teppanyaki prepared by all of us. The amount of seafood prepared by Mr.Yap (picture) was astonishing. It looked that it was prepared for 50 people instead of 25. Everyone kept on eating & eating....and the food was like never ending...... food kept coming to the steamboat boiler...

Just as everyone thought well .... their stomach filled, LUCKY Draw session was on next. Mr. Yap was praying hard for a moile phone, (wife lost 1 earlier).... his prayers was answered.- he got the mobile on his lucky draw pick. Even the kids got their prizes as well.

Everyone had a good time, the kids played around together as the company bosses & staff gather to mingle with wives and husbands, boyfriends & girl friends so as the wiser group. I personally think that even the maids had a good time.

Singapore...........?

We arrive at S'pore at around 4pm. After rounding a few streets, we finally manage to find or accommodation, SWISSOTEL....... yup, dun worry, that' how you spell it, no spelling mistake. It's a pretty new hotel, with over 60 stories high. We took up 3 rooms, the ladies (Mrs.Yap & Jess) took up the suite (harbour front view), the rest of us took the lower floors ( City view).

Swissotel is right in the middle of the city itself (City Hall MRT) & just 5 min walk to S'pore Parliament building. With Raffles shopping center below, the ladies didn't have to go far to do their Duties (shopping), but we did go to VIVO city shopping center for an afternoon.

All of us did our shopping, not only the ladies. I only found out that some actually some of the items are cheaper in m'sia. So frens, dun bother going to S'pore SALE.

One good experience is that we had a very good lunch in Vivo City. The restaurant is call CARNIVORE. The buffet lunch cost SGD$19.00 (not inclusive of GST). The atmosphere was great & I personally think that the food is even greater.

That night we were also invited by Qantas S'pore freight for a karaoke session in POWER STATION. It's located next to Vivo City. The place was very unique, it was a all-in-one palace. they have restaurants, pubs, clubs, karaoke & many more entertainment outlets all in one place. Power Station is indeed a place to be at & to be seen at.

Jetstar another notch up!

Yesterday, we had our Trio's league game. Myself, Mantis & Jason played for Jetstar. Our opponent was team KRC, didn't find out what it stands for though. Their key player was a British by the name John King, (dengar nama pun sudah hebat). He was a good bowler but his team mates didn't perform that well.

On the other hand, Jetstar was all over them.I think we did a good job by trashing them in all 3 games. We bowled more than 1800 pin falls, with an average of 300 pin falls per game. It was amazing what a focused & determined bowler can do. We didn't do our usual side bets during the game, as we wanted to do our best & the intensity was at its peak.

I was the first bowler, followed by Mantis and the Key player was Jason. As usual, we did our routine with the opponent team by wishing them best of luck and so did they. All of us was quite relax throughout the game, as KRC was not performing well. I was put as the first player as I was the worst of the lot with the highest handicapped. The key player or A.K.A. the 'Anchor player' will have the lowest handicap points or no handicap points at all. Hence, you would understand that how good is Jason Soo, he has ZERO handicap points.

A little bit about Jason, he is a young chap who has played bowling almost all of his life. He even once won a Proton Gen-2 when he played a perfect game. Prior to working for Rep Air, he was in & out of jobs, but mainly in bowling line. He has quite a number of balls (bowling balls), as he is still searching for his perfect ball. And he has a lot of other equipments and tools in his goody bag.But i think, he is still missing 2 important tool. That is a drilling machine, and a personal bowling lane that he can train on day in & day out.

Bowling Outside Pyramid Bowl

Over the weekend our group ' JETSTAR' went over to Ampang Bowl in Berjaya Times Square. The bowling center is situated on 5th floor of the shopping complex. The first step in took us by surprise as it was pretty impressive. The setting was very relaxing and huge,. plus they also use plasma screens instead of the usual CRT TVs.

The actual reason for us there was to try out their lane condition (just like how the m'sian team try out lanes from all over the country). Exposure was needed as our team MANAGER- Jason Soo would like us to experience the difference. He ended up drilling a brand new ball, but the workmanship SUCKS.

I was astonished to find out that it was all very nice on the outside but not inside. Firstly, it cost us Rm6.50 per game (expensivelah). Then, the pin system always get stuck, hence we have to repeatedly reset pins. Worst of all, our balls (Bowling Ball i mean) had scratches and grime or dirt stuck to it. It ain't nice since most of our balls cost us more than RM500.00 a piece (on sale). The consolation was that the staff did offer to clean our BALLS for free.

The overall experience was quite different than what was expected, having to re-evaluate on how much "I know the Game". Reading the lines, playing at differ angles and also changing the overall style was needed. So in future, pls do not pass any comments on our bowling team ( our the m'sian bowling team) performance before you try it out yourselves.

Next (coming weekend 15,16 & 17 Dec), JETSTAR team will be heading south to the island of Singapore for more action. PLS stay tune..................

To Bowl or Not to Bowl

I have bowling for a couple of months now. Still trying to get the grasp the 'right' way of letting the ball out of the fingers and thumb. I have always thought of the game as easy and the 'everyone can do it' symptoms. But little to know that it's not as easy as it may seem.

Especially if one wants to play in little leagues and tournaments. Side bets are becoming a norm, but it's to enhance ones senses & concentration to play better. So no BIG harm is done. The GAME is not for the weak minded or the less serious player. Practice, practise and more PRACTISE is needed and a never ending story of PRACTISES are needed. Unless your are born a sportsperson.

As time goes by, I suddenly notice that its neither an inexpensive game to play, it would cost almost similiar to golf. But instead of playing out in the sun, you can enjoy the comforts of an air-condition area. HAHAHAHa.

Arc Flash

I recently pumped up my car with a "State-of-the-Art Nanotechnology of Antimicrobial" called ARC-FLASH. The shop is situated at 136, Jalan Kuchai Maju 8, Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park, Off Jalan Kuchai Lama. 58200. Kuala Lumpur. Its actually behind a cafe called 2046 cafe.

I was informed that this product uses nano technology to clean the environment. Hence they proclaim that this product will kill 99% bacterias and viruses. Supposedly able to remove odour from the car. For example: ciggy smell, fish,etc...
The product is self deodorizing and self cleaning. They promise that it will last a minimum of 5 years.

The shop also provides car washing facilities as a side business. I think this is the only "cuci kereta' provider that has the boss (who drives a VOVLO S40) TO WAS YOUR CAR FOR YOU. http://www.arcflash-intl.com

Hi Guys! This is my first time to explore into the now fascination world of ppl using their personal BLOG. I have seen some very interesting blogs by ppl who are very creative and interesting. I hope that mine will be as interesting and fascinating or even better.

Pics: Had this little fellow on my trip to Bangkok.

Recently I have join a couple of friends to form " A League of Extraordinary Bowlers". It all started out as a friendly game, then a twist of FATE, made us all to become slightly more serious players in the game. By the way our team name is JETSTAR.

We usually play in Pyramid Bowl ( Sunway Pyramid). But as always, there are members of the team that have their own personal 'secret training' else where as well. There is also a 'Grade AA' bowler in our team. this person has won prices e.g. Proton Gen-2. and other prices. Looking at him roll out the bowling ball makes you wonder.......... if only i can do that every single time....... but then again, if you can do it..... 'Halloway Cheah' will be looking for YOU.
